Pastoral Care

Counselling

Confidential pastoral counselling with a member of the ministry team — for whatever you are carrying.

What this is

A conversation, held in confidence.

Pastoral counselling at Northmead is a confidential conversation with a trained member of the ministry team — about marriage, family, grief, addiction, anxiety, faith, or anything else weighing on you.

What you say stays between you and the counsellor. It is not discussed with other members, not raised from the pulpit, and not recorded anywhere the congregation can see.

Its limits

Pastoral counselling is not clinical psychiatry or medical treatment. Where a situation needs professional or medical care, the team will say so plainly and help you find it rather than attempting something beyond their competence.
